 Southwestern Oklahoma Parks and Resorts

There is as much sky as there is grass in southwestern Oklahoma --- and there's lots of grass. The blue granite Wichita Mountains rise out of the green and gold prairie here in a landscape grand enough for the stories it holds.

Choose a park in Southwest Oklahoma

Crowder Lake State Park - Eight miles south of Weatherford on Highway 54, two miles east and one mile south on County Road, then three-quarters of a mile west on Park Road.

Fort Cobb State Park - Seven miles north of Fort Cobb.

Foss State Park - Eleven miles west of Clinton, then two miles north on Highway 44. (Or seven miles north of Foss on Highway 44)

Great Plains State Park - Two miles north of Mountain Park on Highway 183 and two miles west on Blacktop County Road. Turn right at park entrance sign, then one and a half miles to the park office.

Quartzmountain State Park - In southwest Oklahoma, 17 miles north of Altus on SH-44A, overlooking Lake Altus-Lugert

Washita National Battlefield
