Spavinaw State Park is a small, quiet state park located on Spavinaw Creek just below the dam on the western end of Spavinaw Lake, a 1,636 acre fishing-only lake with 20 miles of shoreline. The park offers visitors camping, fishing, picnic areas, and swimming. Nearby Spavinaw Wildlife Management Area offers opportunities for hunting and hiking. Picnic facilities include 50 tables and a group shelter. Camping facilities in the park include 26 RV sites with water and electric hookups, 60 regular sites with no utilities, 2 comfort stations, 1 with showers, a playground and swimming beach. Families with small children especially enjoy this park for the shallow water in the swimming area.
Location
East of Grand River & Lake Hudson area and 3/4 miles south of Spavinaw on
Hwy 20.Park Office located at Cherokee State Park. Hours are 8am - 4:30pm,
Monday - Friday, year round with a ranger on duty on Saturday and Sunday.
Campgrounds are open year round; however, some comfort stations and water
outlets may close during freezing weather.
Directions
From I-44 and US 69, take Hwy 20 east and Hwy 20/82 northeast to the park.
