Osage Hills State Park, a densely wooded park nestled in
rolling hills, has much to offer visitors including picnic areas, camping,
swimming, fishing, boating, tennis, softball, volleyball, horseshoes, hiking,
biking, or horseback riding on one of its many trails. Abundant fishing for
bass, crappie, catfish, & perch can be found in Lookout Lake, or in Sand
Creek at the south end of the park. Row boats are available to rent on Lookout
Lake. There are 82 picnic sites, 2 group picnic shelters, 4 comfort stations
with showers, a swimming pool with a changing house, playground, ball courts,
hiking trails, 20 RV sites with water and electricity, 35 regular campsites and
8 cabins with full, modern kitchens, bath facilities, heat/air and fireplaces.
Large groups will find a Group Camp facility with 10 bunkhouses to accommodate
up to 120 people, a full kitchen, and a large, rustic dining hall/community
building with fireplace constructed of stone and timber that seats 120. A 3-mile
self-guided nature trail winds through wooded park land, and many less formal
trails can be found that offer opportunities to hike, mountain bike, ride or
view wildlife.
