Next  American Idol  for 2007

Melinda, Melinda, Melinda! She is going to win it, take it from this Okie, how could anyone else win? After tonight with her rendition of "I Am A WOMAN" she simply sets above the crowed. Lakisha and Jordin are good, but no-one is up there with her. The greatest thing about her, is her sweet, sweet spirit. She picks the right songs, the right clothing and the right hairdo. She looks classy but never parts with the sweet spirit. Simon said, wow we thought we had a pussy cat, but she is a tiger
smileyrolleyes.gif She will win it if we get all of the Okies and Nashville calling in for her.  This is another state project for one of our own.

smileybiggrin.gif She is unbelievably terrific. She is such a pleasure to treasure and look forward to weekly.

LET'S KEEP HER THERE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OKLAHOMA. She is definitely our next big STAR.

smileytongue.gif She is absolutely wonderful. She has a God given talent that she definitely knows how to use. She reminds me of  Mahalia Jackson and sings from her gut with such feeling and control. She has a special glow about her and you know it is going to be great when she opens her mouth.

Melinda is 29 years old and presently lives in Brentwood, TN

(BROKEN ARROW, Okla.) February 20 - Melinda Doolittle went to junior high  and high school at Union schools here in Tulsa and even went to TU for a short time. But you may not know that she also spent a good deal of time at Rhema Bible College where they still remember her very well.

"Every Wednesday night you would find Melinda here."

Rhema Bible College in Broken Arrow is nationally known for its devotion to God, but these days it's also paying a little bit of attention to someone else Tulsa's American Idol hopeful Melinda Doolittle.

"She was just something special.  Everyone around us knew she was something special."

Back in the mid 90's Melinda was a part of Rhema's Fusion youth band.

"They went on to be recognized nationally mainly because Melinda was so good."

Craig Hagin was Melinda's youth pastor.

"We'd meet here every Wednesday night.  About 300 kids ... and we'd just talk about God ... Talk about life."...........................................

And then they'd listen to Melinda sing.

"We had other people who could sing, but Melinda just had a talent that was far better."

A talent Hagin believes will carry Melinda on American Idol and beyond even if she doesn't win it.

"I believe it's going to open some big doors and we're going to be hearing from Melinda Doolittle for a long time."

And Pastor Hagin says Melinda joined the youth group at Rhema because her mom went to school there when she was young.
