Location:

Two miles north of Mountain Park on Highway 183 and two miles west on Blacktop County Road. Turn right at park entrance sign, then one and a half miles to the park office.

Great Plains State Park is located in southwestern Oklahoma on the shore of the 6400-acre Lake Tom Steed. A drive along Hwy 183 provides a scenic route that winds its way through the mountains along the lake's shoreline. Recreational activities include fishing, boating, skiing, swimming, camping, picnics and hiking. A moderate 1 1/2 mile nature trail overlooks old Snyder Lake and the dam on the Tom Steed Reservoir. There are 93 campsites ranging from tent camping to modern RV camping with all utilities. Amenities include three comfort stations (two with showers), 2 ADA, RV sites (S), a grocery store, numerous picnic sites (4 group picnic facilities), 2 lighted boat ramps, 2 boat docks, a bait shop, 2 playgrounds and a swimming

15 miles west of Wichita Mountains. Wildlife Refuge and Ft. Sill Military Reservation

Hours & Days of Operation:
Park Office during peak season: 8am to 5pm, daily. Off-season hours: Monday - Friday 8am to 5pm. Campgrounds open 24 hours, year round except for comfort station #2 which closes from November to March.

Price Description:
Peak season campsites range from $8 for primitive or undeveloped sites (no utilities) to $19 for 50 amp modern preferred location RV sites w/all utilities. Discounts, # of people, site location, time of year, facilities, etc., will affect rate. Groups renting multiple campsites may get a discount. Call for paddleboat information. Group picnic shelters are available for $45 a day.
