Depot, barn, jailhouse, 1-room school, 2-story hotel with artifacts of the area; Rock Island railroad items, Fort Reno history. Lake El Reno has 333 acres of open land and 300 acres of flat water that is used recreationally for water skiing, jet skiing, swimming, boating and fishing. It is also home to a herd of buffalo, a remote control airplane field and a motorcycle dirt track. A quiet 22 space RV park is nestled behind the lake with water and electrical hook ups. The newest addition to Lake El Reno is a P.B Dye Jr. designed 18-hole Golf Course. One of the premier Golf Courses in the state. Canadian County War Memorial The dedication of the Canadian County War Memorial on July 4th of 2000 was one of El Reno`s greatest accomplishments. With a crowd of over 500 people and many special dignitaries the war memorial was dedicated. Everyday new bricks are added and the monument draws more people to its fantastic platform. The Canadian County War Memorial is something everyone should see when in El Reno.

Site of cavalry outpost set up in 1874 to protect the Darlington Indian Agency; War II German POW cemetery. Fort Reno was established as an Indian Territory military fort in 1875 and is located four miles west of El Reno on Route 66. Fifteen buildings listed on the National Register of Historic Places are adjacent to the parade grounds. The historic Post Cemetery is the location of the annual Tombstone Tales event in September. The land base exceeds 6,000 acres and is the location of the Grazinglands Research Laboratory of the United States Department of Agriculture.

The Jacobson House Native Art Center is on the National Register of Historic Places and is in the former residence of Oscar Brousse Jacobson ( 1882-1966 ) who was inducted into the Oklahoma Hall of Fame in 1948. It is a Native Art Center because Jacobson was the first non-Indian art authority to introduce American Indian art to the "world" in 1926. His first exhibitors were the internationally famous "Kiowa Five". We have a year-round schedule of exhibits and events.
